Details
Cosmonaut Volkov is a tomato variety that truly takes the taste experience to new heights with its rich, deep, balanced blend of sweet and tangy flavors. The indeterminate plants of this variety produce generously sized fruits, typically 2–3 inches in diameter. These slightly squat, deep orange/red tomatoes are noted for their green-tinged shoulders and bright red interiors, offering a taste sensation unique to heirlooms. Originating from Ukraine, Cosmonaut Volkov Tomatoes are named in honor of Vladislav Volkov, a Russian astronaut who tragically perished during a space mission. The variety was selected by Mikhailovich Maslov, a Russian space engineer turned passionate gardener, who regarded it as one of the best in his garden. It's a fitting tribute to Volkov's spirit of adventure and exploration.
