Created by James Chalk of Norristown, Pennsylvania who introduced this tomato in 1899. The Stokes Company commercially introduced it in 1904. The plants are good producers of 4-6 oz. smooth, red, oblong, meaty globe fruits. The tomatoes have a sweet, old-fashioned flavor with balanced acidity. Perfect for sandwiches, salads, and slicing.
