AKA Amish Knuttle. These beans are said to have been brought to North America on the Mayflower by Ann Hutchinson in 1620, followed by a long history of being circulated in the Carolinas. This productive cut-short type has short pods packed with small square white seeds blotched with rose. The young string beans are prized for their delicious flavor. Also excellent as a dry bean.
