Mild Famous Spanish heirloom. (500 - 2,500 SHU). Typically sautéed in olive oil with a little sea salt and eaten as tapas (appetizers) in Spain.
Often called the “Spanish version of the Shishito Pepper”, the taste of the green Padrón pepper is rich: earthy (nearly nutty) and sweet. When pan fried and charred, it’s a flavor that translates very well with the smoky tastes from the cooking. The pepper’s flesh, too, nearly melts in your mouth when prepared this way.
