Details
Also known as Vezeni Piperki, which translates to “embroidered,” Vesena, which translates to “stitched” and the Elefant pepper. Rezha translates to “engraved.” It is so named because of the extreme corking on the peppers. This 100+ year Macedonian heirloom has a mild to medium heat that has an amazing sweet and slightly nutty flavor behind the heat. The heat can vary greatly with these peppers with some having almost no heat and some being quite hot. The long-podded, 4-7” prolific peppers ripen from green to red. Traditionally dried or roasted in Macedonia, they are by far the most unusual looking peppers we have grown. The skin texture is rough if these peppers are eaten fresh, but roasted they soften up. They have a fairly juicy flesh that isn’t crispy, but a little on the soft side. Non-Isolated.
