Aribibi Gusano, also known as 'Aji Gusano', 'Arivivi Gusano', 'Aji Gusanito', 'Caterpillar Pepper' and 'Turtle's Claw', is a much-loved variety from the city of Aribibi in the Amazon Rainforest region of Bolivia. An exotic chinense pepper variety having wrinkled, slender, white fruits with a strong and hot, citrus flavor. The fruits can grow up to 1 1/4" and ripen from light green to creamy white. The plants have a compact bushy growth habit and produce masses of wrinkled, caterpillar-shaped chillies which start light green and ripen to pale creamy yellow-ivory. Aribibi Gusano peppers have an amazing flavor and work very well in salsas, sauces, stews and stir fries. The word 'gusano' means 'worm' in Spanish, and the word 'gusanito' means 'little worm'. Still a very uncommon variety. Non-Isolated.
