Details
Hot Portugal pepper plants produce spicy, 6”, thin-walled red chili peppers that taper to a point. Beneath the spiciness is a hint of sweetness. The peppers have a crunchy texture and a lingering heat. The stunning long red fruits are wonderful stuffed, beautiful in ristras, and after roasting, make an incredibly flavorful base for hot sauce, spiced up with some jalapenos and Thai chilies. An excellent chili for cool climates, it is early and productive. First offered in 1935. Non-Isolated.
