Details
Leeks are an onion relative with compact stems that thicken, but do not form bulbs like onions. The 7-9” stems blanch snowy white and are topped with blue-green leaves. They can be eaten fresh, grilled, sauteed, and added to soups and stews. They have a mild, sweet onion flavor that is highly prized for gourmet cooking.
