If you appreciate tiny treasures as much as big, bold blooms, this little gem is worth a try. European field pansy (Viola arvensis) produces fingernail-sized flowers with pale yellow petals and a deeper yellow center brushed with a few purple whiskers. Usually reaching 6 to 10 inches tall, itβs a little charmer along a path or the front of a border. Full sun to light shade. Annual. Self-sows freely once you get it established and can be considered weedy in some areas.
