Details
White Snakeroot, characterized by its small, foamy white flower clusters, grows 2 to 4 feet tall with toothed, somewhat heart-shaped leaves extending from long stems, and blooms late summer through fall, often beyond the first frost. Its fertilized flowers develop into fluffy tufts that disperse seeds like miniature dandelions on the wind. Thriving in moist soils in shaded or partially sunlit areas, Ageratina altissima is commonly found along woodland edges and sheltered waterways, initially appearing weedy after soil disturbance but integrating respectfully in established areas.
