Details
Green Curled Ruffec has large, curled, deeply cut leaves. Leaves are dark green and about the same size as leaf lettuce, with a buttery, distinctive taste. Excellent greens for salad, but also great boiled or steamed. The heart blanches to a creamy white. To blanche the heart, tie up the outer leaves 2-3 weeks before harvest. Resistant to cold wet weather. A pre-1865 heirloom variety.
