Details
Heritage Variety. Upright chicory with long 'serrated' leaves with white white ribs. Early maturing. The texture is succulent and the flavor, is unforgettably bitter, an acquired and appreciated taste that mellows with a simple water bath or cooking. The young leaves also will have a milder flavor than that of more mature Catalogna plants. Tall, open, green leaf chicory. Cook or eat fresh in salads. Best for fall.
