Geneva 935 Apple Rootstock (G.935)

A semidwarf rootstock that is more productive and disease resistant than M.26. Grafting onto this rootstock will grow to 30-35% of standard apple tree height. 

G.935 is an outstanding semi-dwarfing rootstock. While disease resistance is now taken for granted when it comes to the Geneva rootstocks, G.935 stands out for its productivity; it is highly precocious with a very high yield efficiency, and it also induces nice wide branch angles. G.935 will not produce burr knots or suckering. We strongly recommend that only virus-free scion wood be used. There have been a few issues with some scions.

It is cold hardy to zone 3.

Cornell recommends this stock especially for high-density plantings of weak cultivars. For such plantings, recommended density is 3-3.5' x 11-12' (1320-1037 trees/acre) and for vigorous cultivars it is 3.5-4.0' x 12-13' (1037-839 trees/acre).

We have developed an easy pickup system for the plant starts. From mid-May through June, we will offer pickup at our farm in Howell, MI, as well as at our regularly attended Farmers' Markets. You can choose the time and location for your pickup once the plant starts are ready!

We will include extremely helpful instructions and detailed information about the plants you choose with your order!

Simply make your plant selection by adding each plant you want to your shopping cart. When you check out, select "On-Farm Pickup." When the plants are available (beginning mid-May), you will receive a pickup email with details on where to find your order! If you need to change your pickup date/time, please respond to your pickup email, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Plants are $4.50 each or 5 for $20. The discount will automatically be applied at checkout if you order 5 or more plants. Thank you!
