Hardneck. Marbled Purple Stripe. From the far west China province of Xinjiang, homeland of the Uyghur and Xibe peoples, comes this spicy, colorful strain. As with most Marbleds, this one is also great in the kitchen and maintains its spicy garlicky flavor when cooked. Tasted raw, it has a medium heat that builds slowly. Usually each bulb has 4-5 plump cloves. Bai Pi Suan came into commercial production through Ron England in 1992.
