Details
This variety dates back to the 1820s or earlier. The beets are a rich, golden-yellow color and are very sweet. Golden is a beautiful beet that won’t bleed like red beets. Its oval-shaped roots grow fast, yet retain sweet flavor even when quite large and during cooking. Golden beets are tender and mild; an excellent choice for pickling. The green leaves with yellow stems can be used in salads when young and can be cooked as greens when mature. A favorite of many.
